Chameleon window film is the easiest product on the shelf to sell and the hardest to explain badly. The colour shifts with the viewing angle, so a single roll can look sunset orange on one side of the car and deep purple on the other. KSB builds the chameleon series in our own factory for tint shops and film distributors who sell on looks and still need the UV and heat numbers behind them.

The colour shift comes from the construction. These films use multiple layers of specialised dyes, pigments and metallic particles that interact with light to produce the change. The result is a tint that looks different on every panel of the same car, and different again as the vehicle moves.
Our Chameleon Window Film Range
Six models cover the common tint-shop demand, from a 92% IR option for hot markets to a lighter 17% UV option for drivers who want the look without a heavy optical load. Every model is a 2 mil M-PLY SRC construction supplied on a 40 inch by 100 foot roll.
| Model | VLT | UV | IR | TSER | Film layer | Thickness | Roll size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q80 | 83% | 99% | 14% | 20% | M-PLY SRC | 2 mil | 40″ x 100′ |
| H85 | 87% | 17% | 12% | 15% | M-PLY SRC | 2 mil | 40″ x 100′ |
| M85 | 85% | 22% | 36% | 42% | M-PLY SRC | 2 mil | 40″ x 100′ |
| Z85 | 85% | 23% | 31% | 43% | M-PLY SRC | 2 mil | 40″ x 100′ |
| S8590 | 82% | 31% | 92% | 52% | M-PLY SRC | 2 mil | 40″ x 100′ |
VLT is visible light transmission, so a higher number means a brighter cabin. UV is the percentage blocked, IR is infrared energy rejection and TSER is total solar energy rejection. Full performance results and current pricing sit on the KSB Sunset Red and Royal Purple chameleon film product page.

Why Tint Shops Sell Chameleon Film
It Opens the Conversation on Appearance
Most customers walk in asking about heat. Chameleon film gets them talking about the car instead, which is what makes it work as a front-window and full-car upgrade. It is the product that lifts a quote from film-only to a full package.
The Heat and UV Numbers Are Real
The colour is not a film over a film. Each model is built on a nano ceramic base with a PET core and a UV blocker in the adhesive layer, so the optical performance holds up alongside the look. On the S8590 the IR rejection is 92%.
It Installs Cleanly
The base material shrinks in four directions, which is what makes a colour-shift film settle into a compound curve without leaving stretch marks. That means faster work on the rear glass and fewer re-cuts on a full-vehicle install.
No Signal Interference
The film is non-metallic, so mobile, GPS and radio reception are unaffected. On a modern car with a head-up display, a hazy film is the thing to watch, and this series is specified for low haze.
Backed for the Life of the Vehicle
The chameleon series carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, and it is built to outlive the vehicles it is fitted to.
Chameleon Window Film Wholesale and Supply
We supply chameleon window film to importers, distributors and tint shop chains on both sample and container quantities. As a factory we can quote FOB Guangzhou, arrange a private label package and provide the optical test data your customers ask for before they order.
If you are still deciding which film to put in your display window, our chameleon film launch notes and the guide to how long each film type lasts cover how the different constructions behave over time.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can chameleon film be used on any vehicle?
Yes. It suits most vehicles and any automotive window. The higher VLT models are usually the right pick for front glass, while the darker tones are chosen for rear and side windows.
Does the colour change affect visibility from inside?
No. The shift works on how the film looks from outside. From the driver’s seat the cabin stays clear and comfortable.
Is there any signal interference?
No. The film is non-metallic and does not affect mobile phone signals, GPS or radio reception.
How durable is the colour shift?
The films are built to withstand harsh environmental conditions without fading or deteriorating, so the colour stays as vivid as the day it was installed. Service life is also what your maintenance routine and installation quality make it.
Can it be applied to residential or commercial windows?
Yes. Beyond automotive use, chameleon film also goes on residential and commercial glazing for the same combination of privacy, energy efficiency, UV protection and appearance.
